Chasing Francis: A Pilgrimage
You don’t want to miss this opportunity to travel in the steps of St. Francis of Assisi! Your spiritual journey on this pilgrimage will be enriched and transformed through participation in historical visits, lectures, prayer, journaling, and Eucharistic celebration in significant places associated with St. Francis.
In ASSISI, the home of St. Francis, we will visit the Basilica of St. Francis; Carceri, the caves above Assisi where Francis developed his life of prayer; La Madaalena, the location of the leper colony where Francis and his order ministered; and many other noteworthy places. Our day in FLORENCE will be spent taking in the beauty of the Duomo and the Basilica di Santa Croce among others sites. ROME will provide an opportunity to experience the Vatican with a special tour; St. John Lateran, the baptistery of the Franciscan Order and the Vatican of Francis’ time; and St. Francesco a Ripa, the sanctuary dedicated to St. Francis. While you will have the opportunity to explore Rome on your own, you will also have the privilege to serve those who occupied a special place in Francis’ heart…the poor.
